Giant Jaguar
Like today’s jaguars, the prehistoric giant kind had long limbs and tails. They were, however, a lot bigger than their modern cousins. The two species of Giant Jaguar – one native to North America and one to South America – were about the size of a fully grown lion and several times stronger. Both species went extinct during the last Ice Age, about 11,000 years ago.
