A lion gets too close to a rhino and learns a lesson in this rare encounter caught on camera on safari…
Rhinos grow to lengths exceeding twelve feet and can weigh more than 6,000 pounds. They are usually solitary creatures, although mothers and calves often form strong relationships. Rhinos are primarily herbivorous, preferring to feed on leafy plants, branches, shrubs, and fruit, when available.
In stark contrast, African lions are extremely social creatures and hypercarnivores. The lionesses perform most of the hunting tasks while the males are entrusted with guarding the territory. They primarily prey on ungulates including wildebeest, gemsbok, and giraffes, although they have been known to take on much larger animals on occasion.
