Visitors at the Fuyang Wildlife Park in China got to witness an amazing moment when a crane became trapped in a tiger enclosure. At first, the odds seemed bleak for the crane, as the two tigers charged towards the bird and prepared for an easy meal.

The crane, however, decided enough was enough, and an amazing battle ensued. Spreading its wings and going on the offensive at times, the large bird somehow managed to keep the hungry cats at bay.

“After a standoff that went on for minutes, the crane was finally rescued by zookeepers and only suffered minor injuries,” reported CGTN, which posted the video on YouTube.

While tigers are fierce predators, estimates put the success rate of those in the wild at about 5-10 percent — so perhaps this was just a typical day for these big cats.
