An amazing escape!
A surprise visitor literally jumped into the boat of a family out of the coast of Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. In an amazing video recently uploaded to YouTube we see a seal jump into the boat to escape a pod of orcas pursuing close behind.
The video shows two large killer whales breach the surface while a third waits near the motor of the boat, gazing at the lucky seal.
The amazing moment was recorded on an iPhone by Vancouver native Kirk Fraser.
“I was out with my parents and family friends when we were looking for whales and a pod of 12 transient killer whales where chasing the seal” explained Fraser.
The seal “ripped towards the boat in a desperate escape and scrambled on the deck. It fell of three times in panic and finally stayed on until the whales gave up after about 30-45 minutes.”
What a lucky seal! Fraser called this the “most intense epic experience ever.”
Watch the amazing moment in the video below.
The seal made itself nervously at home as the hungry killer whales surrounded the boat, salivating over the meal just out of reach.
In the last video uploaded by the user we see the group celebrating the seal’s survival.
