This lone black rhino didn’t want anything to do with a large pack of wild dogs. Apparently wanting the watering hole all to herself, she fearlessly chased them off on her own.
She makes it look relatively easy, but African wild dogs are a force to be reckoned with — In fact, they’re one of the most efficient hunters in all of Africa, with an 80% hunting success rate.
We don’t blame her, though; Rhinos need to do whatever it takes to sustain themselves. Unfortunately, the black rhino is classified as critically endangered; and three subspecies, one including the western black rhinoceros, were declared extinct by the International Union for Conservation of Nature in 2011.
This amazing sighting was filmed in Naledi in the Greater Kruger National Park in South Africa.
