Lions Take Down a Buffalo [VIDEO]

A coalition of young male lions were filmed taking down a large adult Cape buffalo in some incredible footage captured during a safari.

At the beginning of the video, we see a lone lion attempting to take down a buffalo, and — after nearly getting trampled to death by the herd — retreating. This lion soon learns the value of teamwork, when the rest of the coalition of young male lions arrive on the scene. They work together to isolate and take down a massive buffalo.

Taking down a buffalo of this size is no easy task. Weighing between 1,100 and 2,200 pounds, and capable of charging at up to 35 miles per hour, these massive creatures no doubt strike fear into the heart of any lion that finds itself outnumbered. Fortunately for these young lions, they can depend on each other and work together to take down the huge beast.
