A massive great white shark swam through waters just south of Miami recently.
The shark, known as Unama’ki, is one of the largest Great Whites ever tagged. The 2,000 pound, 15-foot-long predator was noticed by researchers when it “pinged” at 5:46 a.m. off Key Largo.
The huge shark also pinged days before off Vero Beach, north of Miami. The findings were announced by OCEARCH, a research organization that tags sharks to keep track of their movement. They described the news in a Facebook post:
