Dragonfly Experiences Time in Slow-Motion

The Dragonfly is able to see the world in a completely different way than how we perceive it. With a super-fast reaction time, this insect effectively sees time in what we would call slow-motion. Because they have a reaction time far faster than us, they can process information MUCH faster. This means that they experience time much slower than we do.

All creatures experience time differently, due to differences in perception. Since dragonflies can process information much faster with their fast reaction time, time is slower for them. We see the world at up to about 60 images per second, whereas Dragonflies see at about 300 images per second. Thus they see the world five times slower!

These amazing creatures have been around for 300 million years, far longer than humans and have outlasted dinosaurs. All thanks to their keen perception.
