A woman who was mauled by a tiger after leaving her car at a wildlife park in Beijing is now suing the park, stating she was unaware of the dangers and left her vehicle only because she was carsick.

After exiting her vehicle, the woman was pounced on and dragged off by a tiger in the park. Her mother immediately came to her rescue, but was attacked and killed in the process.

The surviving woman, surnamed Zhao, is now seeking 2 million yuan ($299,917.52) from Badaling Wildlife World.

Despite a variety of signs and warnings, Zhao said she was not fully informed of the risks at Badaling. But, according to the Beijing Times, everyone signs an agreement to remain inside the vehicle upon entrance to the park.

Zhao said she signed but didn’t read it, thinking it was registration to enter the park. She also stated that the ticket taker did not explain the document fully. Furthermore, Zhao said that a park official in a nearby vehicle failed to come to her rescue at the time of the attack.

While the park feels that it adequately warns visitors and repeatedly cautions people to stay in their vehicle through documents and signage, they will still consider compensating the family out of moral obligation, according to the Beijing Times.

The story exploded on social media, with most users siding with the park. What do you think?
